AB  - The first few weeks after broilers hatch are the period of most intense bone growthand development, and the time when they are most susceptible to the in fluence ofvarious external and internal factors. Research in the recent decades has focused on theinvolvement of melatonin in bone development during early life in chickens. Melatoninrelease from the pineal gland has a circadian rhythm, with the highest levels circulatingduring the night and decreasing during the light phase of the day. Various types oflighting are used in intensive broiler production. In this study, the effects of melatoninon the tibial structure and growth of broilers were investigated. During the first twoweeks of life, two groups of chickens were kept under continuous light and fed thesame diet, with the experimental group receiving melatonin in the amount of 0.03 g/kg of feed. The results obtained showed that the addition of melatonin in the diet hadpositive effects on the development and growth of the tibia, which was expressed ina signi ficantly greater thickness of the diaphysis and cortical bone of the diaphysis,higher breaking force and higher values of alkaline phosphatase activity. The corticalbone mineral density of the tibia did not differ signi ficantly between the groups ofchicken.

AB  - Текуница је биљојед. Храни се зеленим деловима, цветом и семеном, луковицама зељастих биљака, инсектима, а могу да поједу гуштера, јаја или младунце птица, шеве које се гнезде на земљи. Циљ рада је да се обради део кардиоваскуларног система. Испитивања су вршена на 6 текуница, оба пола, телесне масе 200-300 грама. После искрварења животиња, у грудну аорту (Aorta thoracica) убризган je желатин обојен сликарском темпером. После ињицирања, крвни судови су препарисани и фотографисани.
A.	maxillaris, једна од већих грана спољашње каротидне артерије (A. carotis externa), пружа се у кранијалном правцу, паралелно са вентралном ивицом мандибуле, тако да се налази између М. masseter-a и M. digastricus-a. М. masseter лежи дорзално и латерално, а М. digastricus вентрално од A. maxillaris. У пределу оралног руба М. masseter-a А. maxillaris  скреће у ородорзалном правцу и прелази у А. facialis. 
Od A. maxillaris се одвајају жлездане и мишићне гране. 
Жлездане гране (Rami glandulares)  доводе крв у подвиличну пљувачну жлезду (Gl. mandibularis) и подвиличне лимфне чворове (Lnn. mandibulares).
Mишићне гране (Rami musculares) доводе крв у M. masseter (Ramus massetericus) и M. pterygoideus (Ramus pterygoideus). 
Од A. maxillaris се такође одваја А. alveolaris inferior  која улази у Foramen mandibulae и у Canalis mandibularis-у даје огранке за доње зубе.
Гране од А. maxillaris васкуларишу M. pterygoideus (Rami pterygoidei) код текунице, пацова и слепог кучета, M. temporalis (Ramus temporalis profundus) и M. buccinator (Ramus buccalis) кoд пацова и слепог кучета и  M. masseter (Ramus massetericus) код текунице и пацова. 
Код слепог кучета М. masseter (Ramus massetericus) вакуларишу гране од  A. facialis и A. carotis externa.
AB  - Squirrel is a herbivore. It feeds on green areas, flower and seeds, bulbs herbaceous plants, insects and can eat lizards, eggs and chicks of birds, larks which nest on the ground. The aim of this study was to investigate a part of the cardiovascular system. The investigations were performed on six mole rats, of both sexes, body weight 200-300 g.  After bleeding, the thoracic aorta (aorta thoracica) was injected with gelatin stained with  painting tempera. After injection, the blood vessels were prepared and photographed.
The maxillar artery (a. maxillaris), one of larger branch of the external carotid artery (A. carotis externa) runs rostrally, parallel with the ventral edge of the mandible. It is located between masseter and digastricus muscles. The masseter muscle is related to it dorsally and laterally, and the digastricus muscle lies ventral to it. In area of oral edge of the masseter the maxillar artery turns in orodorsal direction and continues as facial artery.
	The maxillar artery gives off the glandular and muscular branches.
	The glandular branchеs (rami glandularеs) supply the mandibular salivary gland (gl. mandibularis) and mandibular lymph nodes (lnn. mandibulares).
The muscular branches ramify into the masseter (ramus massetericus) and pterigoid (ramus pterygoideus) muscles. 
	The maxillar artery also gives off the inferior alveolar artery (a. alveolaris inferior) which enters the mandibular canal through the mandibular foramen. It distributes twigs to the lower teeth.
	Тhe maxillar artery gives off the branches for the pterygoid muscle in the ground squirrel, rat and mole rat, the temporal muscle (ramus temporalis profundus) and the buccinator muscle (ramus buccalis) in the rat and mole rat and masseter muscle (ramus massetericus) in the ground squirrel and rat.  
In the mole rat the masseter muscle supply branch (ramus massetericus) of the facial artery and external carotid artery.

V. iliaca interna kod tekunice (Citellus citellus)

AB  - Tekunica je jedini predstavnik svoga roda kod nas. Kao ekperimentalna životinja koristi se u mikrobiologiji, parazitologiji, farmakologiji i imunologiji. Cilj rada je bio da obradimo deo kardiovaskularnog sistema kod tekunice i na taj način doprinesemo boljem poznavanju građe tela ove životinje i damo doprinos komparativnoj anatomiji.
	Ispitivanja su izvršena na 6 tekunica, oba pola, telesne mase 200-300 grama. Posle iskrvarenja životinja u V. azygos dextra ubrizgana je kontrastna masa, želatin-tuš. Injicirani krvni sudovi zadnjih ekstremiteta su prosvetljavani metodom po Spalteholz-u za vizuelizaciju krvnih sudova u ekstremitetima eksperimentalnih životinja. Analiza preparata je vršena pod stereo mikroskopom.
	Završne grane kaudalne šuplje vene (V. cava caudalis) su V. iliaca communis dextra et sinistra. Svaka od njih se deli na dve grane: V. iliaca externa i V. iliaca interna. V. iliaca interna je druga završna grana od V. iliaca communis dextra et sinistra. U toku pružanja od V. iliaca interna se odvajaju: V. circumflexa femoris lateralis, V. glutea cranialis i V. glutea caudalis. Pošto se od V. iliaca interna odvoji V. glutea caudalis, ona se nastavlja u V. pudenda interna. 
	Na osnovu našeg ispitivanja došli smo do zaključka da kod muških životinja V. pudenda interna prelazi u V. dorsalis penis caudalis a kod ženskih životinja u luku povija prema vagini.

Influence of phytoestrogens on skeletal muscle structure

AB  - Constant increase of meat quantity along with ensuring its high quality are nowadays being
the priority requirements of the market towards modern meat production. With selection
and animal nutrition as the basic mechanisms regulating the quantity and quality of meat,
in recent years more attention has been devoted to investigations of the effects of different
chemical compounds on muscle tissue, while monitoring their potential negative effects on
both animals and humans as the end consumers. A group of compounds that is being
increasingly studied in the last years are phytoestrogens – substances of plant origin with
chemical structure very similar to estrogen, capable of causing either estrogenic or antiestrogenic
reactions in the organism. The most studied phytoestrogens are daidzein and
genistein, and due to their ability to mimic estrogen in the body, they are thought to be able
of influencing growth and carcass composition in farm animals. This paper gives an
overview of the newer results on the effects of phytoestrogens genistein and daidzein on
skeletal muscle tissue in farm animals.

AB  - The activity concentration of 40K, 238U, 232Th and 137Cs in game meat from 
mountain regions Tara and Maljen as well as around the Belgrade city were measured by the 
gamma-spectrometric method. In game meat from mountain regions the activity 
concentration of 137Cs was higher (22-54 Bq kg-1) compared with samples collected around 
the Belgrade city (<0.2 Bq kg-1). The content of natural radionuclides was low in all 
investigation samples.

AB  - Gamaspektometrijskom metodom određivana je aktivnost 137Cs i 40K u lekovitom bilju sa područja 
planine Zlatibor. Najveća aktivnost 137Cs je izmerena u uzorku borovnice (120 Bq/kg), dok je u ostalim 
uzorcima lekovitog bilja aktivnost 137Cs bila niska i kretala se u opsegu od 0,7-21 Bq/kg. U ispitivanim 
uzorcima 40K je bio dominatni radionuklid i njegova aktivnost se kretala od 150 Bq/kg (borovnica) do 
970 Bq/kg (podbel). Radiološki rizik za stanovništvo koje pije čajeve od ispitivanih lekovitih biljaka je 
nizak, osim u situaciji da se konzumiraju velike količine čaja od borovnice čijom ingestijom stanovništvo 
dobija godišnju efektvinu dozu od 1024,9 nS.
