Uprkos
visokom regenerativnom potencijalu kože, defekti u vidu dubokih rana ili opekotina, teško spontano zarastaju i zahtevaju terapijski tretman. I pored napretka u bioinžinjeringu kože i intenzivnih istraživanja
u cilju iznalaženja novih biomaterijala, lečenje hroničnih rana i dalje
zavoja podržavaju regeneraciju i zarastanje oštećene kože. Uvođenje
nanotehnologije je omogućilo nove pristupe u sintezi i dobijanje in situ
hibridnih hidrogelova, odličnih svojstava i prilagodljive funkcionalnosti.

formiranja suznog filma.
starosti i pola životinje.
- Korekcija entropiuma i ektropiuma,
- Sanacija povreda kapaka,
- Коrekcija urođenih i stečenih deformitete kapaka (različite etiologije) i
- Uklanjanje tumora kapaka.

AB - Monitoring hirurških pacijenata podrazumeva skup svih informacija
o stanju pacijenta dobijenih direktno čulima anesteziologa i pomoću
aparata, monitora. Sistemi za upozorenje su ugrađeni u aparate
kojima se vrši monitoring. Aparati registruju promene u organizmu u
zadatim parametrima i upozoravaju na odstupanja. Pravilnim monitoringom
se povećava bezbednost samog pacijenta jer registrovanjem
promena u organizmu pre ispoljavanja kliničkih manifestacija nam daje
vremena da reagujemo i sprečimo ireverzibilne promene. Idealan
stanja pacijenta, urgentnosti hirurške procedure i opremljenosti
operacione sale gde se sprovodi hirurški postupak. Svakom pacijentu
potrebno je obezbediti osnovni monitoring (praćenje telesne temperature,
pulsa, broj respiracija, boje sluznica, stanje svesti, saturacija,
EKG, kapnografiju itd).

trauma, padova i drugih povreda. Osnovni principi pristupa sanacije
anesteziološkog protokola u zavisnosti od težine povrede i dužine trajanja same intervencije.
i šrafovi.
To podrazumeva pravilan odabir implanta i načina hirurške sanacije. Posebnu
AB - Fractures of long tubular bones in dogs are most often caused by trauma, falls and
other injuries. The basic principles of the fracture remediation approach primarily the use of
adequate stabilization of the general condition of the animal and remediation of potential,
life-threatening injuries. The use of an adequate analgesia protocol perioperatively, as well
as after the completion of the repair of a fracture of long tubular bones, can contribute
to faster recovery of the dog. After stabilization of the patient, the choice of anesthesia
protocol is chosen depending on the severity of the injury and the duration of the intervention
itself. Monitoring of vital functions and monitoring of pain are carried-out preoperatively,
intraoperatively and for several days postoperatively. The surgical approach to fractures of
long tubular bones in dogs in practice involves the use of adequate surgical procedures in
order to stabilize fracture fragments. For this purpose, various orthopedic procedures are
used with adequate use of implants. Depending on the type of fracture, intramedullary pins,
wires, plates and screws are most often used. Before starting any orthopedic procedure, it
is necessary to make a plan. Depending on the breed, age category, severity of the injury,
potential presece of primary diseases, the way the animal is kept, etc., it is necessary
to choose the most appropriate surgical approach. This means the correct choice of
implant and the method of surgical repair. Special attention should be paid to oblique and
transverse fractures of the humerus, radius, femur and tibia. All orthopedic interventions
must be performed in the most sterile conditions, respecting all the principles of asepsis
and antisepsis in order to minimize the risk of potential complications.

anesteziološkog protokola u zavisnosti od težine povrede i dužine trajanja same intervencije.
i šrafovi.
To podrazumeva pravilan odabir implanta i načina hirurške sanacije. Posebnu
sterilnijim uslovima uz poštovanje svih principa asepse i antisepse kako bi se rizik od potencijalnih komplikacija sveo na minimum., Fractures of long tubular bones in dogs are most often caused by trauma, falls and
other injuries.
All orthopedic interventions
must be performed in the most sterile conditions, respecting all the principles of asepsis
and antisepsis in order to minimize the risk of potential complications.",

AB - European ground squirrel is a small mammal from the order of rodents. This species is widespread in the southeastern part of Central Europe. In Serbia, it inhabits mainly Vojvodina, where it lives on pastures and areas alongside roads, embankments and other uncultivated lands. Ground squirrel is a legally protected species. Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade issued an approval for conducting this research and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia issued an approval for obtaining the animals from their natural habitats (No. 353-01-1185/2011-03). The aim of this study was to describe the topography and morphology of the thymus (Thymus) and to compare it with other experimental animals, such as rats, rodents and rabbits from the order of Lagomorpha. The study included 6 clinically healthy and young squirrels. Before sacrificing animals were sedated with xylazine and then euthanized with ketamine, 10% Ketamidor. The thymus is gray-yellow in color. Its surface is partly smooth and partly irregularly knotty. On average, the thymus accounts for 0.125% of total body weight. The thymus consists of the cervical (Lobus cervicalis) and thoracic lobe (Lobus thoracicus). Its two lobes form an isosceles triangle, the apex of which extends to the cranial part of the larynx. The smaller cervical lobe of the thymus lies ventrally from the trachea, and the larger thoracic lobe lies in the precardial mediastinal space. In the rat and mole rat, the thymus has a cervical and thoracic lobes, while the guinea pig has only cervical lobe of the thymus, and the rabbit thymus is not divided into lobes. Each lobe is surrounded by a thin connective tissue capsule of from which small trabeculae separate, which extend from the periphery to the center of the lobe. They contain branches of blood vessels and nerves. The trabeculae partially divide the lobe of the thymus into lobules of irregular shaped and different sizes. Each lobule is made up of a peripheral cortex which occupies about 70% of the lobe, and an inner medulla. On the histological preparation, the cortex is darker in color and contains densely packed T lymphocytes.
Based on the obtained results and comparing the thymus in other experimental small mammals, it can be concluded that the thymus lobes of the ground squirrel are similar to those of the rat and mole rat, while only the cervical lobe has the guinea pig. The thymus of the rabbit has no lobes and its mass of tissue of irregular shape is located cranial to the heart and ventral то the tracheal bifurcation.

AB - The roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) belongs to the deer family (Cervidae) and the genus Capreolus. Due to the wild nature and diet of deer, venison is most often obtained through deer hunting. In our practice, the most frequent cases of illegal hunting were related to the roe deer. The perpetrators hunt illegally in order to gain material benefits by selling venison meat or obtaining expensive trophies of these animals. In veterinary medicine, forensic DNA methods are used to identify biological material, such as the skin, hair or venison meat, that is suspected to originate from a wild animal caught during a ban on its hunting. In the absence of roe deer biological material, whole bones or their parts with pronounced anatomical characteristics can be used for forensic analysis. Knowing the anatomical differences of bones between domestic and wild animals is one of the safe methods for determining the species of animal.
The aim of this study was to describe the anatomical characteristics of the deer femur and compare it with those of sheep, in order to determine the affiliation of the animal species. After the soft tissues were removed, femurs were boiled, and after rinsing bones were placed in 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) for bleaching.
The investigations results showed the following: The roe deer femur is on average 2.3 cm longer than the same bone in sheep; The body of roe deer femur is strongly curved cranially, and in sheep it is slightly curved; The caudal surface of the femur body in sheep has two rough lines that were absent in the middle third in the roe deer femoral body; Lateral surface of the greater trochanter of femur in roe deer is rough and in sheep it is smooth; The trochanteric fossa in roe deer femur is narrow and deep, while in sheep it is wide and shallow; On the distal extremity of the roe deer femur the trochlea is shallower than in sheep; On the lateral condyle of the trochlea, the popliteal muscular fossa in roe deer is narrow and shallow and in sheep it is wide and deep. Тhe roe deer patella is on average 0.3 cm shorter and 0.4 cm narrower compared to sheep. On the basis anatomical differences of roe deer and sheep femurs, it can be determined with certainty which animal species they belong to

The roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) belongs to the deer family (Cervidae) and the genus Capreolus.
On the basis anatomical differences of roe deer and sheep femurs, it can be determined with certainty which animal species they belong to",

AB - The period of bone healing after trauma goes through certain physiological processes. In situations where a bone fracture occurs, our intention is to surgically position in an appropriate morpho-anatomical position. For osteosynthesis we used vipla wire and micro plates with corresponding screws. The aim of our research was to evaluate the optimal time for the removal of the osteosynthetic material, fracture site biomechanical stability, and measurement of the callus thickness. For this research ten 4 months old rabbits with right leg femur fracture were used. Osteosynthesis was done with titanium micro plates, corresponding screws and vipla wire. Experimental animals were observed through the post-operative period at the first and seventh postoperative day and there on at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12 weeks. Further additional fixation was needed in one of the rabbits in the second week. The postoperative period provided us information about the optimal moment for the removal of titanium micro plates. It showed that over a period of six weeks, the bone had almost all normal biomechanical properties. Significantly greater strength and rigidity of the recovered femur were obtained after 12 weeks. Micro plates that were removed after 4, 6 or 9 weeks, did not need furhter fixation and therefore fixation was not applied, compared to those placed during the 12 weeks. X Ray evaluation provided us with follow up results of fracture healing. The results suggest that it is acceptable to remove titanium micro plates after a period of healing, that is, after the formation of the callus and bridging of the fracture gap and diastasis with newly formed bone. © 2022 Risto Dučić et al., published by Sciendo.

AB - Biocompatibility of materials is one of the most important conditions for their successful application in tissue regeneration
and repair. Cell-surface interactions stimulate adhesion and activation of macrophages whose acquaintance can assist in
designing novel biomaterials that promote favorable macrophage–biomaterial surface interactions for clinical application.
This study is designed to determine the distribution and number of macrophages as a means of biocompatibility evaluation
of two newly synthesized materials [silver/poly(vinyl alcohol) (Ag/PVA) and silver/poly(vinyl alcohol)/graphene (Ag/PVA/
Gr) nanocomposite hydrogels] in vivo, with approval of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,
University of Belgrade. Macrophages and giant cells were analyzed in tissue sections stained by routine H&E and im munohistochemical methods (CD68+
). Statistical relevance was determined in the statistical software package SPSS 20
(IBM corp). The results of the study in terms of the number of giant cells localized around the implant showed that their
number was highest on the seventh postoperative day (p.o.d.) in the group implanted with Ag/PVA hydrogels, and on the
30th p.o.d. in the group implanted with Ag/PVA/Gr. Interestingly, the number of macrophages measured in the capsular and
pericapsular space was highest in the group implanted with the commercial Suprasorb© material. The increased mac rophage number, registered around the Ag/PVA/Gr implant on 60th p.o.d. indicates that the addition of graphene can, in a
specific way, modulate different biological responses of tissues in the process of wound healing, regeneration, and
integration.

AB - The aim of the study was to evaluate inflammatory tissue reactions and the formation of calcified tissue after implantation of experimental nanostructured calcium silicate cement (CS) and hydroxyapatite with calcium silicate cement (HA-CS) into root canals of rabbits' teeth. The study was conducted on four rabbits of the genus Oryctolagus cuniculus. After instrumentation and irrigation, the root canals of the central incisors were dried and filled with CS, HA-CS and control material (MTA Angelus). The animals were sacrificed after 28 days. After histological preparation and hematoxylin-eosin staining, tissue samples were evaluated for the intensity and extension of inflammatory tissue reaction; continuity, morphology and thickness of the newly formed calcified tissue; and presence of giant cells, materials particles and microorganisms. Kruskal Wallis and Dunn's post hoc test were used for data analysis (α=0.05). There were no significant differences in the intensity of inflammatory reactions between CS, HA-CS and MTA control. HA-CS showed significantly better results than MTA and CS with respect to continuity of the newly formed calcified tissue (P=0.003 and P=0.010, respectively). Significant differences in thickness of the calcified tissue existed between CS and MTA (P=0.004) and between HA-CS and MTA (P=0.012). Application of CS and HA-CS resulted in minimal inflammatory tissue response, similar to the MTA control. CS and HA-CS were more efficient than MTA in supporting hard tissue formation. The best organized newly formed calcified tissue was seen after HA-CS application.

AB - A newly produced biomaterial is necessarily subject of standards, which are performed in vivo on animal models. For the evaluation of soft tissue regenerative possibilities after subcutaneous implantation of biomaterials – silver/poly(vinyl alcohol) (Ag/PVA) and novel silver/poly(vinyl alcohol)/graphene (Ag/PVA/Gr) provided for clinical use, sixteen rats were used, according to the instructions of international standards, ISO 10993-6, 2007. Histological sections were observed 7, 15, 30 and 60 days after grafting. These hydrogels were produced by in situ electrochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles in the polymer matrices, which enabled obtaining completely safe and biocompatible materials, free from any additional toxic chemical reducing agents. Surgical implantation of hydrogels was done according to the permission of the Ethical Committee of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade. Immunohistochemical (IHC) studies included the assessment of smooth muscle expression actin in blood vessels (α-SMA), the expression of laminin and type I and type III collagen in the skin structures, and, the determination of cell proliferation marker expression (Ki-67) keratinocytes. The results were assessed in a semiquantitative manner. The data were analyzed in the statistical software package IBM SPSS 20. The conclusions indicated that Ag/PVA/Gr might be used as wound dressings to enhance the tissue
Imunohistohemijske (IHC) studije uključivale su procenu ekspresije aktina glatkih mišića u krvnim sudovima (α-SMA), ekspresiju laminina i kolagena tipa I i III u strukturama kože i određivanje ekspresije markera proliferacije (Ki-67) keratinocita.

AB - Objective: We aimed to investigate alteration in cellular signaling mediated by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and parameters of oxidative stress/nitric oxide generation, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), underlying altered functional mechanical loading of TMJ (temporomandibular joint) during lateral mandibular deviation. Design: Thirty-eight 5-week-old male Wistar rats were divided into experimental group, which received acrylic resin appliance that shifted mandible to the left during closure, and control group. Computed tomography and histomorphometry were used for condyle analyses, while samples of condyle, synovial membrane and m. masseter were analyzed with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and spectrophotometry to determine VEGF and nNOS protein concentrations, and SOD activity. Results: Experimental group of rats developed smaller and asymmetrical mandibles. Less of new bone and cartilage formation and larger bone marrow cavities area were found in the experimental group. Higher VEGF expression in condyle and m. masseter as well as higher nNOS expression in m. masseter and synovial membrane were found in the experimental compared to the control group. Alteration of SOD activity was found in m. masseter and synovial membrane in the experimental group. Conclusions: Lateral mandibular deviation induces mandibular and condylar morphological changes as well as significant cellular signaling alterations in condyle, synovial membrane and masticatory muscle. Cellular VEGF protein overexpression and oxidative stress/nitric oxide disbalance could be the mechanisms underlying unbalanced functional TMJ loading due to mandibular deviation.

AB - An unusual case is presented of an unsuspected orbital metallic foreign body (sewing needle) in a dog. The skin entrance wound injury was undetected during two clinical examinations, likely due to the quick skin healing and punctiform nature of the wound in the skin/muscles/orbit. The most unusual characteristic of this case is the cause of the wound. The metallic foreign body could have penetrated the cornea through an oblique limbal/scleral pathway at the moment of injury, leaving no obvious signs of corneal injury in the first clinical examination. Secondly, the corneal injury perhaps occurred due to the dog rubbing its head on the floor between the initial examination and the first follow-up examination after seven days. At first, the case presented as anterior uveitis with an unknown cause. Due to quick scar formation of wounds in dogs and the fact that punctiform wounds can be difficult to detect, an orbital foreign body was not initially suspected. However, seven days afterwards, a new sign of triangular limbus-based corneal opacification appeared. This led to suspicion of a previous corneal injury and the nearby (orbital) presence of a foreign body. This diagnosis was confirmed by radiography and the intraorbital sewing needle was extracted by surgery. Lack of sophisticated techniques did not prevent an adequate diagnosis and an excellent surgical outcome.
Usled brzog zarastanja rana i formiranja ožiljka kod pasa i nedovoljno jasnih kliničkih znakova punktiformnih rana orbitalno strano telo nije bilo očekivano.

AB - The aim of this study was to investigate the biocompatibility of nanostructured materials based on highly active calcium silicates mixed with different radiocontrast agents in comparison to MTA(+) using in vitro and in vivo model. Morphology of materials samples was analyzed using SEM while the phase compositions were identified by XRD. pH values of materials suspensions were conducted by pH-meter. The cytotoxicity of materials solutions was tested by MTT test (100, 50, 25 and 12.5mg/ml). LDH and H-3-thymidine assay were utilized for biocompatibility investigations of materials eluates (24h, 7 day and 21 day). Eighteen Guinea pigs were used for intramuscular implantation, as teflon tubes with freshly prepared materials were placed into intramuscular pockets. All samples were composed of round and needle-like particles equally distributed with Ca/Si ratio 2.7 at%, with the presence of hydrated calcium silicate phases. The pH values of ALBO-MPCA(1) and ALBO-MPCA(2) were high alkaline, while in case of MTA(+) they were lower and continuously declined (p<0.05). Investigated materials didnt exhibit dose-dependent effect on metabolic activity of L929 cells (p>0.05). Significant differences in the percentage of cytotoxicity between diluted and undiluted extracts between all tested materials after 24h and 7 day were noticed (p<0.05). Increase in L929 cells proliferation was noticed in case of undiluted eluates of ALBO-MPCA(1) and ALBO-MPCA(2) after 7 day (p<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in the intensity of inflammatory response between investigated materials and control group after 60 day (p>0.05). Evaluation of biocompatibility of both ALBO-MPCA(1) and ALBO-MPCA(2) indicate their potential clinical use. [GRAPHICS] .

AB - As an alternative to MTA, a new endodontic material based on hydroxyapatite and calcium silicates (ALBO-MPSA) has been synthesized, and its biocompatibility has been studied in many in vitro and in vivo studies. The current study aims to evaluate a subchronic systemic toxicity of ALBO-MPSA on the rat animal model, as a continuation of the previous studies. Biochemical parameters of blood and histological parameters of the liver, kidneys, and spleen of the rats were analyzed after 120 days of consumption of the aqueous extract of ALBO-MPSA. The results showed no myelotoxic effect or autoimmune effect on peripheral blood cells and no pathological effect on the liver, kidney, and spleen tissues. Besides, no changes in the skin and hair of the rats, neither the change in the consumption of food and water, nor the change in their usual behavior were noticed during the experiment.

AB - In this paper, we have shown for the first time the soft tissue response of novel silver/poly(vinyl alcohol)/graphene (Ag/PVA/Gr) and silver/poly(vinyl alcohol)/chitosan/graphene (Ag/PVA/CHI/Gr) nanocomposite hydrogels aimed for medical applications. These novel hydrogels were produced by in situ electrochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles in the polymer matrices as described in our previously published works. Both Ag/PVA/Gr and Ag/PVA/CHI/Gr, as well as controls Ag/PVA, Ag/PVA/CHI and commercial Suprasorb (c) hydrogel discs, were implanted in the subcutaneous tissue of rats. Implants with the surrounding tissue were dissected after post-implantation on days 7, 15, 30 and 60, and then processed for histological examination. The tissue irritation index (TIrI) score, according to ISO 10993-6, 2007, as well as the number of leukocytes in the peri-implant zone and connective tissue capsule thickness were examined. The results show that each TIrI score, the leukocyte number around the implanted materials and capsule thickness gradually decreased during the observation period. At the endpoint of follow-up, the Ag/PVA/CHI/Gr implant was surrounded with a thinner capsule, while both the TIrI score and the number of leukocytes of the peri-implant zone were greater compared to the Ag/PVA/Gr implant. Despite the observed differences, we can conclude that our in vivo experiment suggested that both novel hydrogels were biocompatible and suitable for medical use.

	A. circumflexa ilium profunda
AB - Mole rat (Spalax leucodon) belongs to the order of rodents. The animal is blind. The mouth opening is small, and it feeds from two shorter upper and two lower incisors very developed. Neck with a very well developed musculature continues without constriction in the chest. The abdominal wall is thin.
The aim of this study was to examine a part of the cardiovascular system. The investigations were perfomed on six mole rats of both sexes, body weight 180-240 g. After bleeding the animals, the abdominal aorta was injected with gelatin stained tempera painting.
The deep circumflex iliac artery (A. circumflex ilium profunda) represent paired blood
vessel. This paired vessel arises from the terminal part of the abdominal aorta (Aorta abdominalis), but it may arises from the common iliac arteries (Aa. iliacae communes). On its course to the kneefold the deep circumflex iliac artery perforates the lumbar and abdominal muscles, and sends branches for these muscles, subiliac lymph nodes and skin. In female animals it supplies the caudal part of the mammary gland.
According to the results of this study it can be concluded that A. circumflex ilium profunda dextra et sinistra in the mole rat arise from the terminal part of Aorta abdominalis or from Aa. iliacae communes but in the ground squirrel they arise from the lateral walls of the abdominal aorta, at the same height or at different distances from one another at the level of sixth lumbar vertebra.

AB - In this doctoral dissertation, it was used the well-characterized commercial high strenght carbon fibers (CF) Torayca (T300B, 6000-50B, No 2610622), 4-6 m thick. These fibers were functionalized by treatment with HNO3 and KOH, which significantly changed the content of the surface groups. Biocompatibility of functionalized carbon fibers was tested in vivo by implanting fibers in the subcutaneous tissue and m. longissimus dorsi of the experimental animals (rabbits, chinchilla variety), than followed with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and assessed in vitro on cell cultures (fibroblast and macrophage). The results of this doctoral dissertation showed that there is no difference in the degree of the cytotoxicity level between modified and standard CFs, which was in this experiment evaluated first basing on the cell viability test (calorimetric MTT) and cell adhesion test (three-dimensional / 3D cell cultivation in Matrigel) on human fibroblasts of the continuous MRC-5 cell line. However, these studies were supplemented with tests on the culture of the human macrophage line U937, in which cell viability was assessed, than internalization of fibers (phagocytosis) and production of proinflammatory cytokines, IL-1α, IL6, IL-8 and TNF-α. When CFs were added at concentration of 125 μg / ml, cell viability was uninhabited in the culture of the human macrophage line U937. By adding CFs at concentration of 250 μg / ml or 500 μg / ml, there was a significant dose-dependent linear decrease in cell viability by all three applied CF groups, especially in case of adding base CFs. Significantly higher number CFs treated with base was pagocytosed by macrophage cells, compared to the phagocytosis of standard and acidic CFs. There was an increased concentration of proinflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-1β in human macrophage culture U937 line supernatants after adding of the standard or acidic CFs at concentration of 125 μg / ml, while the adding of the base CFs in the same concentration caused a reduced production of these cytokines. At the same concentration, standard CFs resulted in significant reductions in IL-8 secretion, while acid and base CFs pronouncedly increased secretion of IL-6 and IL-8 secretion. In addition, the acid-treated fibers were stronger stimulant of IL-8 secretion from macrophages, compared to the base-treated fibers. Standard CFs at the concentration of 250 μg / ml decreased IL-1β secretion, and base line increased...
AB - U ovoj doktorskoj disertaciji upotrebljena su dobro okarakterisana komercijalna visokočvrsta karbonska vlakna (KV) marke Torayca (T300B, 6000-50B, No 2610622), debljine 4-6 m.

AB - This paper presents the results of the research on renal blood vessels of the mink. The main goal of this research is to provide a unique insight in renal vessel constellation and thereby contributes to the amount and quality of the available data on the cardiovascular system of the mink, since the data found in the available literature regarding this specific field is rather poorly documented. Blood vessels of the mink kidney were studied by dissection and corrosion injection technique. The renal artery and its branches, and the lobar, interlobar and interlobular arteries are terminal arteries and they do not anastomose between each other. The arterial system is characterized by two independent vascular areas, supplied by the dorsal and ventral lobar artery. Lobar arteries divide the kidney horizontally into a dorsal and ventral half, while lobar veins divide it vertically into the cranial and caudal half. The renal vein is formed from the cranial and caudal lobar vein. The obtained results are compared with relevant literature findings on renal blood supply of a dog and other sympatric carnivores.

AB - Introduction: The aim of this article was to analyze biocompatibility and bioactivity of new endodontic materials on the basis of nanosynthesized calcium silicates (ALBO-MPCA(1) and ALBO-MPCA(2)) combined with different radiopacifiers in comparison with MTA(+). Methods: Morphology of the samples was studied by scanning electron microscopy, and the pH and ion release analysis were also assessed. Biocompatibility of materials eluates (24-hour, 7-day, and 21-day) was conducted by using MIT test. Twelve New Zealand white rabbits were used for intraosseous implantation. Four calvarial defects per animal were created and filled with freshly prepared investigated materials. Results: Samples mostly consisted of agglomerates built up from nanoparticles, preferably spherical and rod-like. There was no significant difference among pH values of materials eluates after 24 hours (P>.05). The amount of calcium and aluminum ion release decreased, whereas the amount of magnesium and bismuth (ALBO-MPCAl, MTA(+)) and barium (ALBO-MPCA(2)) increased during 21-day period. The metabolic activity of cells increased after the extraction time, except in case of undiluted elutes of ALBO-MPCA(2) and ALBO-MPCAI (21-day). Histologic analysis of the samples revealed newly formed bone tissue with moderate inflammation for all investigated materials, which subsided during 90-day period to mild. Both MIA(+) and ALBO-MPCAI were in direct contact with the newly formed bone tissue. After 90 days, statistically significant difference in hard tissue formation was observed in comparison of MIA(+) and ALBO-MPCki with control group (P <.05). Conclusions: Experimental materials ALBOMPCA, and ALBO-MPCA(2) possess both biocompatibility and bioactivity. Because ALBO-MPCAA provokes favorable biological response, it is especially good candidate for further clinical investigations.

	A. temporalis superficialis је мала завршна грана од A. carotis externa. A. transversa faciei.
AB - The small green monkeys are transported from Eastern Africa, respectively Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. They are often seen in zoos. The paper is a continuation of the study of the morphology and topography of the branches of the external carotid artery.
The aim of this study was to examine morphology and topography the superficial temporal artery (a. temporalis superficialis), and the results compared to the same in the mole rat and qround squirrel.
The investigations were performed on six small green monkeys, both sexes, aged 3-4 years, body weight 2000-3000 g, obtained from the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera in Belgrade. After bleeding, the thoracic aorta (aorta thoracica) was injected with gelatin stained with minium or painting tempera. After injection, the blood vessels were prepared and photographed.
The superficial temporal artery (a. temporalis superficialis) is the small of terminal branch of the external carotid artery. It arises from the terminal part of the external carotid artery at the turn of the external carotid artery in the facial artery. Its initial portion is covered by the parotid salivary gland. The superficial temporal artery passes rostrally to the external auditory meatus, between the temporomandibular joint and the base of the auricular cartilagine. It first runs dorsally, than cross the zygomatic arch to the temporal area and branches in its. The transverse facial artery (a. transversa faciei) arises from the initial part of the superficial temporal artery.
According to the results of this study it can be concluded that the superficial temporal artery in the small green monkey is the branch of the external carotid artery. In the mole rat and ground squirrel the superficial temporal artery can be the branch of the external carotid artery or it arises from the common trunk of the external carotid and transverse facial arteries.

A.	maxillaris, једна од већих грана спољашње каротидне артерије (A. carotis externa), пружа се у кранијалном правцу, паралелно са вентралном ивицом мандибуле, тако да се налази између М. masseter-a и M. digastricus-a.
(Lnn. mandibulares).
Mишићне гране (Rami musculares) доводе крв у M. masseter (Ramus massetericus) и M. pterygoideus (Ramus pterygoideus).
A. carotis externa.

After bleeding, the thoracic aorta (aorta thoracica) was injected with gelatin stained with painting tempera. After injection, the blood vessels were prepared and photographed.
The maxillar artery (a. maxillaris), one of larger branch of the external carotid artery (A. carotis externa) runs rostrally, parallel with the ventral edge of the mandible. It is located between masseter and digastricus muscles. The masseter muscle is related to it dorsally and laterally, and the digastricus muscle lies ventral to it. In area of oral edge of the masseter the maxillar artery turns in orodorsal direction and continues as facial artery.
The maxillar artery gives off the glandular and muscular branches.
The glandular branchеs (rami glandularеs) supply the mandibular salivary gland (gl. mandibularis) and mandibular lymph nodes (lnn. mandibulares).
The muscular branches ramify into the masseter (ramus massetericus) and pterigoid (ramus pterygoideus) muscles.
The maxillar artery also gives off the inferior alveolar artery (a. alveolaris inferior) which enters the mandibular canal through the mandibular foramen. It distributes twigs to the lower teeth.
Тhe maxillar artery gives off the branches for the pterygoid muscle in the ground squirrel, rat and mole rat, the temporal muscle (ramus temporalis profundus) and the buccinator muscle (ramus buccalis) in the rat and mole rat and masseter muscle (ramus massetericus) in the ground squirrel and rat.
In the mole rat the masseter muscle supply branch (ramus massetericus) of the facial artery and external carotid artery.

AB - The method of determining which animal species the bones, on the basis of morphological characteristics, belong to, is one of the most commonly used in forensic cases (poaching, fraud, theft, counterfeiting of food of animal origin). For identification of metacarpal bones (Ossa metacarpi) as well as finger articles (Ossa digitorum pedis seu phalanges digitorum) there were used distal parts of front limb bones, taken from 6 roe deers and 7 sheep. After the separation from the soft tissues, the bones were boiled in an autoclave, and for bleaching and degreasing they were kept in 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The bones were air dried, and then photographed. In roe deer, there are four developed metacarpal bones: the second, the third, the fourth and the fifth. The third and the fourth mrtacarpal bones form one bone, named the main metacarpal bone. The second and the fifth metacarpal bones are connected by connective tissue to distal parts of the third and the fourth metacarpal bones. In sheep, there are three developed metacarpal bones: the third, the fourth and the fifth. The third and the fourth metacarpal bones are, as in roe deer, grown together along the entire length, forming in that way one single bone - the main metacarpal bone. On the distal part of front limb in roe deer there are four fingers, and in sheep two. In roe deer the second, the third, the fourth and the fifth finger are developed, and in sheep, the third and the fourth. Each finger of front limbs, both in roe deer and in sheep, consists of three articles: Phalanx proximalis, Phalanx media i Phalanx distalis. In the case of certain bone missing, a roe deer can be distinguished from a sheep on the basis of the third article of the third and fourth finger, which is of characteristic appearance. Plantar edge in roe deer is peaked, and in sheep it is blunt. The method of determining which animal species the bones, on the basis of morphological characteristics of roe deer and sheep, belong to, is one of the most reliable and most commonly used in forensic cases.
