Influence of chronic sound stress on productivity of hybro broilers
Uticaj hroničnog zvučnog stresa na proizvodne rezultate 'Hybro' brojlera
Abstract
In this study, the influence of chronic sound stress on the productivity of "Hybro" broilers was investigated during the fattening period of 45 days. Chickens were exposed to the sound stress (95 dB) every day during a period of 120 minutes. The intervals between two sound signals varied from 5 to 115 seconds and lasted 5 seconds each. Body weight and food consumption were measured every 15 days. Chronic sound stress resulted in body weight and food consumption decrease and an elevated feed conversion rate. The obtained results indicate that this type of stress exerts a negative influence on the productivity of broiler chickens.
