Animals, feed, meat and meat products are often transported across long distances, being an important part of international trade, which enables a dissemination of salmonella, including even of some resistant strains. Pigs are animals which are difficult to manipulate because of their temperament, build, sharp teeth, irritability, good sense of smell, bad sight and their sensitivity to stress. Animals coming from different farms should be separated in stock yards to prevent both contamination with pathogens such as salmonella and their irritation and aggressiveness caused by contacts with other pigs. These animals are usually a significant reservoir of salmonella which are 'inside' the gastrointestinal tract and gut associated lymph tissue. In contrast to our country, in the EU, even countries which have always had low salmonella prevalence, e.g. Finland, have a control program. The program has to be based on a guarantee that all relevant factors will participate in the prevention of s...almonella contamination.
Životinje, stočna hrana, meso i proizvodi od mesa često se transportuju na velike razdaljine i predstavljaju značajan deo međunarodne trgovine, što omogućava i diseminaciju salmonela, uključujući i rezistentne sojeve. Svinje su životinje sa kojima se relativno teško manipuliše, zbog njihovog temperamenta, građe, oštrih zuba, lake nadražljivosti, dobrog čula mirisa, slabog vida i osetljivosti na stres. Životinje iz različitih uzgajivališta treba da su razdvojene u stočnom depou da bi se preventivno sprečila kontaminacija patogenima kao što su salmonele, ali i uznemirenost i agresivnost životinja usled mešanja sa drugim svinjama. Ove životinje predstavljaju značajan rezervoar salmonela, koje se nalaze 'unutar' gastrointestinalnog trakta i pripadajućem limfnom tkivu. Za razliku od nas, u Evropskoj uniji čak i zemlje koje istorijski gledano imaju nisku prevalencu salmonela, kao što je Finska, imaju svoj program kontrole. Osnova programa mora biti garancija da će svi relevatni faktori imati... učešća u prevenciji kontaminacije salmonelom.
