30 g KMnO4). Fumigacija u ovim uslovima uništava 99,8% mikroorganizama na
površini ljuske i nije povezana sa povećanom smrtnošću embriona. Fumigaciju ne
treba raditi tokom prvih 9 dana inkubacije. Fumigacija prilikom izleganja može
oštetiti respiratorni sistem pilića i imati štetne posledice po zdravlje i proizvodne
performanse pilića. Formaldehid je takođe opasan po zdravlje ljudi.

AB - The aim of this work was to determine the fatty acid profile and health lipid indices of fresh
turkey meat, as well as products obtained from turkey meat, i.e. turkey sausage and pate.
Turkey breast muscles were cut from the side of the carcass, separately vacuum packed
and stored in a refrigerator before analysis. Sausages and pate were produced from turkey
meat using a technological process. The fatty acid profile of the samples was determined
by gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector (GC/FID), and lipid indices were
calculated based on the composition. Turkey muscle had a higher percentage of C16:0 and
C18:0 than turkey sausage and pate. A significantly higher proportion of saturated fatty acids
(47.9%) than in sausage and pate, 27.2 and 8.9%, respectively, characterized turkey muscle.
The lowest determined proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids for turkey muscle was
12.0%. The atherogenicity index was satisfactory for all three tested products, while the
thrombogenicity index was satisfactory only for the tested raw turkey muscle meat (1.656).

AB - Mycopasmatic or enzootic pneumonia is the most common disease of the respiratory system under in the intensive pig
production. It is clinically manifested by coughing, a chronic inflammatory process in the lungs, high morbidity and a
relatively low percentage of deaths. The infection can be transmitted horizontally and vertically. Mycoplasma
hyopneumoniae invades the epithelial cells of the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli and disrupts the function of
the ciliary body. Evagination of epithelial cells occurs, so that the cleansing of the airway mucosa by the mucociliary
apparatus is inhibited. As a result, bacterial complications (Pasteurella, Bordetella, Klebsiella, Actinobacillus,
Hemophilus) are common.M.hyopneminia can play imortant role in PRDC. The development of Mycoplasma
hyopneumoniae is favoured by large congregations of pigs in small spaces, inadequate environmental conditions
(microclimate), parasitic infections and inadequate nutrition. Mycoplasma hyopneumonia can be a significant health
problem on the fattening farm, exacerbated by the influence of non-specific factors as well as the spread of other
bacterial pathogens.

AB - The grazing diet allows the permanent contact of small ruminants with intermediate hosts and
the eggs and larval forms of the parasite. From these reason parasitic infections are present
worldvide in a large number of herds. Lungworms of domestic ruminants are nematodes that
belongs to the phylum Nemathelmenthes commonly named as round worms; classified under
the super family Trichostrongyloidea and Metastrongyloidea of which Dictyocaulus and
Protostrongylus are causes of lungworm infection in ruminants. They induce verminous
pneumonia which was a significant health problem of small ruminant. Due to their importance
in the pathology of small ruminants, in 2020 we conducted a survey of their presence in the
Belgrade area. Investigations included 23 herds. In total, 250 fecal samples were examined by
the Berman method. Determination of parasites was based on its morphological
characteristics.
Dictyocaulus filaria was ocurerd at 23.20% of small ruminants heards. The highest
prevalence is observed in the places where predominate flat plain pastures. Due to
microclimatic conditions, the infection usually occurs in the period April-May when the
largest number of animals are grazing. Clinically manifested disease occurs in kids and lambs
that are grazed for the first time in the second half of the grazing season. Protostrongylinae
are biohelminthes and need intermediate hosts for their development - snails and slugs. Due to
microclimatic conditions, the infection usually occurs in the March and April when the
largest number of intermediate host are preset at pasture. Protostrongylus rufescens occurred
on 21.22%. These nematodes live in bronchioles and alveoli. The prevalence ranges was from
4.23%. Based on the results obtained, we can conclude that a large number of sheep and goats in Belgrade are infected with pulmonary strongilides. Dictyocaulus filaria and
Protostrongylus rufescens are the dominant species, while Muellerius capillaris are present in
a smaller percentage.

AB - Based on research in the world and in our country, diseases of parasitic etiology dominate in sheep in terms
of prevalence and incidence, accompanied by significant morbidity and moderate mortality. The main goal of the parasitic
infection control program is to improve the health status of sheep and goats. Planned application of biosecurity measures is
crucial in protecting the health of small ruminants and the success of production.

AB - The present study was conducted in 52 sheep flocks from the territory of east Serbia in the
period of March to November 2017, using into consideration the sesonal occurance and
prevalence of ticks. Ticks were from sheep by means lightly sprung forceps. The tick species
and sex/gender were identified by morphometric characteristics. In total, we examined 216
sheep and tick infestation was detected in 39.24% of examined animals. The most abundant
species was Ixodes ricinus found in 41.91%, followed by Dermacentor marginatus (27.91%),
Rhipicephalus bursa (10.92%), R.sanguineus (9.92%), D.recticulatus (5.51%) and
Haemaphysalis punctata (3.97%). Of the total number of collected ticks, 57.15% were
females and 42.85% were males. The population maximum for Dermacentor marginatus,
D.recticulatus and Haemaphysalis punctata occurred in April. In May was population peak
for I.ricinus and it was noted that this species started to decrease in abundance in June.
Rhipicephalus sanguineus and R.bursa reached maxima decreasing until August, and
disappearing completely in September and October. The autumn population peak in
September occurred for the I.ricinus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus and in October for the
I.ricinus and R.bursa.

Poteškoće i
složenosti u tumačenju prisustva ostataka pesticida u prerađenoj hrani dovode do
situacije da se kontrola često zanemaruje. Uredbom Evropske komisije (EC) br.
itd.

AB - Coenurosisa is a zoonotic disease caused by the larval forms of Taenia
multiceps which are great host's animals from the family of canids. The disease is
global distribution but is most present in the Mediterranean, Middle East, Central
Africa and Australia. Larvae exhibit tropism toward brain tissue, and cysts are
usually located in the left hemisphere of the brain of small ruminants. Involvement
of the brain can cause increased intracranial pressure, seizures, loss of
consciousness, and focal neurologic deficits. During 2022 we examinee one flocks
of 78 milking sheep reared on hilly pastures located below the Zmajevac hill (397
m), between the branches of the Osimćki mountains and the river Zapadna Morava,
at an altitude of 178 m. Symptoms of ataxia, such as unsteady gait and stumbling,
and depression were observed in 12 animals. In 5 sheep, continuous aimless or
circular movement, wandering, was also manifested. In addition to these
symptoms, in one sheep that died, visual disturbances were observed depression
and unilateral blindness. All affected sheep were slaughtered and a
pathoanatomical examination was performed. In the brain of all animals we
revealed the presence of infestation with one to four coenuri 4.1-5.5 cm in size.
The sites of predilection were the left hemisphere (48%), followed by the right
hemisphere (40%) and the cerebellum (12%). The coenurus has a thin wall
surrounding a single cavity that contains a clear fluid. When the cysts were
opened, numerous scoleces were found inside, from 2 to 3 mm in diameter attached
to the cyst wall. Each scolex has four circular suckers and two rows of hooks on a
rostellum. The hook lengths are 147 to 165 µm and 87 to 125 µm.The results show
that C. cerebralis was a major cause of the nervous manifestations of cenurosis in
clinically affected sheep.

opened, numerous scoleces were found inside, from 2 to 3 mm in diameter attached
to the cyst wall. Each scolex has four circular suckers and two rows of hooks on a
rostellum. The hook lengths are 147 to 165 µm and 87 to 125 µm.The results show
that C. cerebralis was a major cause of the nervous manifestations of cenurosis in
clinically affected sheep.",

AB - Parasitic infections cause significant losses to swine production in the farm system. Aim of our work is to presented measures
to control parasitic infections at farms breeding swine. The basic measures that were developed and applied were: 1. Use the
principles of good production and hygiene practices, 2. Management of the production process, 3. Parasitological diagnostics
4. Application of antiparasitic drugs 5. Strict compliance with biosecurity measures 6. General animal hygiene measures 7.
Pest control and disinfection 8. Control of stray dogs and cats on the farm and control of birds 9. Removal of corpses 10.
Removal of waste 11. Educational program. The application of this integrated control concept of parasite infection required
systematic monitoring of infection on farms and slaughterhouses before and after the applied measures. During the control
before the application of the measures, then six months later, the results obtained showed a reduction in the prevalence of
parasitic infections by over 80%. Certainly, the complexity of the problem required the involvement of all relevant entities,
primarily veterinary services, from farms to slaughterhouses.

AB - Procenat uhranjenosti i telesna kondicija suprasanih nazimica i krmača predstavlja veoma
važan pokazatelj nutritivnog, metaboličkog i zdravstvenog statusa priplodnih životinja.
Ishrana nazimica i krmača u
dovede do poremećaja u pravcu: gojenja krmača i slabijeg apetita u dojnom periodu, većeg
gubitka telesne mase i slabije mlečnosti u dojnom periodu, produženog i otežanog prašenja koje
nije moguće realizovati bez veterinarske asistencije. Ocena telesne kondicije se primenjuje u
cilju procene kvaliteta izbalansiranosti ishrane nazimica i krmača u svrhu optimizacije potrošnje
Priroda i ponašanje svinja otežava ovakav
način pregleda. Hromost se najčešće ispoljava na tvrdim podlogama. Hromost svinja treba
pažljivo posmatrati, tražiti uzrok oboljenja i razmotriti mogućnost postojanja indicija da se
proširi. Tačna dijagnoza je najvažnija u određivanju uzroka, prognoze, tretmana i prevencije.

AB - The present study was conducted in 30 cattle herd from the territory of Banat (Vojvodina) in
the period of March to October 2019, during the grazing season was to established tick fauna
in that arae. Ticks were collected from cattle and from pastures where they were grazed. The
tick species and sex/gender were identified by morphometric characteristics. Relative
abundance analysis revealed that the I. ricinus was absolutely dominant species found in
71.22%, followed by Haemaphysalis punctata (18.22%), Dermacentor marginatus (11.72%),
Rhipicephalus sanguineus (3.22%) and Rhipicephalus bursa (2.01%). On the pasture,
however, the most common species was H. punctata, followed by I. ricinus, D. marginatus, R.
sanguineus and R.bursa. Out of the total number of ticks collected, 53.65% were females and
46.35% were males. The sex ratio showed a higher number of females in four species (Ixodes
ricinus, Haemaphysalis punctata, Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Dermacentor marginatus),
while higher number of males were detected in Rhipicephalus bursa. The population dynamics
of recorded tick species showed two annual maxima, in spring (April-May) and in autumn
(September-October). The considerable interchange between spring and autumn tick
populations can be attributed mainly to environmental conditions.

AB - Small ruminants production, among them sheeps production, in northeast part of Serbia play important role in providing economical income and high quality animal protein for diet especially for those who live in the rural area. Sheeps in this region are usually kept under semi-intensive (pasture/stable) condition. One of the main health problems in this kind of production system is connected to infestation with parasites, which results in direct and indirect economical losses. The present study was conducted in 61 sheep flocks from the territory of northeast Serbia in the period of March to Novembar 2019, using into consideration the sesonal occurance and prevalence of ticks. Ticks were from sheep by means lightly sprung forceps. All specimens were placed into glass specimen bottles which had a piece of hard paper inserted bearing the name of locality name of host and date and hour of collection. The tick species and sex/gender were identified by morphometric characteristics. In total, we examined 342 sheep and tck infestation was detected in 46.24% of examined animals. The most abudant species was Ixodes ricinus found in 48.91%, followed by Dermacentor marginatus (29.91%), Rhipicephalus bursa (11.22%), R.sanguineus (9.72%), D.recticulatus (4.21%) and Haemaphysalis punctata (3.17%). Of the total number of collected ticks, 54.15% were females and 45.85% were males. The population maximum for three species Dermacentor marginatus, D.recticulatus as well as Haemaphysalis punctata occured in April. May was the month of the population peak for I.ricinus and it was noted that this species started to decrease in abundance in June. Rhipicephalus sanguineus and R.bursa reached their maxima decreasing gradually until August, and disappearing completely in Septembar and October. The autumn population peak in Septembar occured for the I.ricinus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus and in October for the I.ricinus and R.bursa.

AB - Meso divlje svinje se smatra namirnicom visoke nutritivne vrednosti,
koju karakteriše nizak sadržaj masti i holesterola. Nizak nivo ukupne
zasićenih i nezasićenih masnih kiselina. Cilj ovog istraživanja je da
utvrdi masnokiselinski profil i hemijski sastav mesa divlje svinje. Tokom
20 jedinki. AOAC (2021) je korišćen za utvrđivanje sadržaja vlage,
masti, proteina i pepela. Determinacija masnih kiselina izvršena je na
gasnom hromatografu (GC6890N, Agilent Tech., USA).
AB - Wild boar meat is considered a meat of high nutritional value, regarding
its high iron and low fat content. However, low intramuscular fat level
does not imply favorable ratio of saturated to unsaturated fatty acids.
The aim of the present study is to determine fatty acid profile, along
with chemical composition of wild boar meat. A total of 20 samples of m.
longissimus dorsi were collected during the hunting season in 2021 year.
The AOAC (2001) method was applied for determination of moisture, fat,
ash and protein content. Analysis of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) was
performed on a gas chromatograph (GC6890N, Agilent Tech., USA). Total
intramuscular fat content in the examined samples was low (1.9%), while
crude protein content was at the level of 22.5%. It is considered that ideal
intramuscular fat content of fresh meat is between 2 and 3%. In the current
study, wild boar meat had a lower fat content. However, due to consumers’
preference for lean meat, it could be estimate as favorable, regarding its
health impact. Health and nutritional indicators of fat are determined by
the level of particular fatty acids. The ratio of polyunsaturated to saturated
fatty acids should be higher than 0.4. Wild boar meat had the PUFA/SFA
ratio 0.56. Among the saturated fatty acids, not all have the same effect
on human health. Myristic acid has the most adverse effect by increasing
the concentration of cholesterol in plasma. Wild boar meat contained small
amounts of myristic acid (0.97%). The most abundant among saturated
fatty acid was stearic acid (17.5%) that is considered neutral. Among all, the
most abundant was unsaturated - oleic acid (41.8%). It can be concluded
that wild boar meat fulfill human health indicators based on its fatty acid
profile, as well as consumers’ expectations for lean meat.

AB - Monieziais is a global parasite disease of ruminants. It is caused by Moniezia expans and Moniezia benedini. As all
tapeworms, Moniezia spp has an indirect life cycle with ruminants as final hosts, and oribatid mites (also called "moss
mites" and "beetle mites") as intermediate hosts. The oribatid mites ingest the eggs, which hatch in their gut and
develop to cysticercoids in the body cavity of the mites. They are infective for the final hosts. These thugs inhabit the
small intestine of the host and clinical presentation is most common in young animals. There are disorders of profuse
diarrhea, intestinal convulsions and obstruction, bloated abdomen, cachexia and death. Research on the prevalence of
monieziais in ruminants has not been done in Serbia for more than fifty years. In our work, we presented the results of a
preliminary examination of the prevalence of monieziais in certain regions of Serbia in large and small ruminants in the
last ten years. Moniezia benedeni is a common tapeworm of cattle in Serbia and depending on the region, the prevalence
is 3 to 5%. Moniezia expansa is more frequent in sheep and goats and occured in 11 to 23% of examined animals.
Diagnosis is based on fecal examination for the presence of gravid segments (proglottids) or of eggs with a
characteristic morphology. In the treatment of the disease, the most commonly used preparations are bezamidazole,
niclosamide, and combination of praziquantel and levamisole.

AB - The Balkan donkey, Equus asinus, is an endangered indigenous breed that was once found in the wider area of
the Balkan Peninsula, especially in the hilly and mountainous areas of Serbia. It is estimated that today there are about 1,000
of them left, mostly in animal genetic resources breeding centers. They are characterized by exceptional resistance to disease
and, to date, have not been subject to disease prevention measures, including parasite control. Herein, we examined parasite
species richness and prevalence of endoparasites in 60 adult donkeys of both sexes from 3 sites: Stara planina Nature Park (a
mountainous region corresponding to the original habitat where this species was once bred); Zasavica Special Nature Reserve
(a plain area at the mouth of the Zasavica in the Sava River), and Krˇcedinska ada (a marsh island on the Danube River near
Novi Sad). We found the most prevalent parasites were Dictyocaulus arnfieldi (68% at Stara planina and 100% at the other 2
sites); Trichostrongylus axei (38% at Stara planina, 57% at Zasavica, and 86% at Krˇcedinska ada); Strongylus vulgaris (32%
at Stara planina and 435% at Krˇcedinska ada); and Strongylus edentatus (57% at Zasavica and 14% at Krˇcedinska ada). In
addition, we found Cyathostomum spp., Anoplocephala spp., Eimeria leuckarti, and Eimeria solipedum in smaller numbers.

AB - The paper examines the results of the research on the
coccidiosis in lambs in Vojvodiina. The present study was conducted in 90
sheep flocks from the all territory of Vojvodina in the period from March 2014
to January 2015. Sheep of both sexes (320 males and 580 females, for a total
of 900) were randomly chosen. There were 610 adults (one-year-old and
above) and 290 lambs. Colected faeces samples were examined using routine
coprological methods. During our examination coccidiosis were found at
32.22% (29/90) flocks. We usally occured mixed infection with 2-3 coccidia
species. At sheep most abundant species were E.ovinoidalis found at 87.1%,
followed by E faurei (42%), Eimeria ahsata (37%), E. granulosa (31%), E.
intricata (19%), and E. pallida (8%). Oocyst were found at adult ant young
animals, but clinical sign of disease were present only at young animals. The
number of excreted oocysts was higher in lambs than in adult sheep.

intricata (19%), and E. pallida (8%). Oocyst were found at adult ant young
animals, but clinical sign of disease were present only at young animals. The
number of excreted oocysts was higher in lambs than in adult sheep.",

AB - The study about gastrointestinal helminthes of sheep at central
parts of Šumadija region - Pomoravski and Rasina district was started in March
2016 and finished in October 2018. During our research 937 fecal samples
originated from 62 sheep flocks were collected individual at monthly intervals. A
total of 57 animals we were analyzed by post-mortem examination. Determination
of parasites eggs we performed by keys given by Euzeby (1981). We occured next
parasite species: Haemonchus contortus, Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta,
Ostertagia trifurcata, Ostertagia ostertagi, Ostertagia occidentalis, Marshallagia
marshalli, Trichostrongylus axei, Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Trichostrongylus
vitrinus, Nematodirus filicoliis, Nematodirus spathiger, Nematodirus abnormalis,
Cooperia curticei, Cooperia oncophora, Cooperia punctata, Cooperia zurnabada,
Skrjabinema ovis, Bunostomum trigonocephalum, Oesophagostomum venulosum
and Chabertia ovina. Most prevalence species of nematode are Ostertagia,
Trichostrongylus and Nematodirus, species. Although most of the gastro-intestinal
species appear to follow this general pattern of seasonal distribution, some
variations in intensively and duration of these characteristics with different worm
species occurred. Thus with Trichostrongylus and Ostertagia species infection at
mature goats the spring peak was more pronounced that the autumn infection.
Poliparasitismus and infection were established at all examined animals. The
intensity of infection and polyparasitsm was monitored in relation to the age of
sheep. It was found that in younger animals intensity of infection was lower than
that of older animals.

AB - The paper examines the results of the research on the tiny fauna of tiny ruminants in
the territory of the Republic of Serbia, made in the period 1989-2019. The research
covered all the regions from Vojvodina to Kosovo and included long-term tropical
biodiversity studies, full dimorphism and seasonal dynamics of occurrence. During
our study we established presence of Ixodes ricinus,I.persucatus, Rhipicephalus
sanguineus, R.bursa, R.(Boophilus) annulatus, Boophilus calcaratus, Dermacentor
marginatus, D.recticulatus, Haemophysalis punctata, Ha.inermis, Ha.sulcata,
Hyalomma savignyi,Hy. marginatum marginatum and Hy.detritium. The sex ratio of
ixodid species was in favor of females and was 61.02%: 38.98%. More males than
females (65.08%: 34.92%) were observed only in the species Rhipicephalus bursa.
For the two most commonly found species of Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes
castor, this ratio was 69.50%: 30.50% and 63.42%: 36.58%, in favor of females.

AB - Cryptosporidiosis is an anthropozoonosis caused by coccidia of the family Cryptoporididae, whish may cause
a serious health problem for kids in the first weeks of life. In our paper we presented results of examination
of goat cryptosporidiosis in Serbia. In period 2016-2019 we examined 197 goat herds. Total of 1576 faecal
smears were examined by Sheather’s sugar floatation technique and modified Ziehl–Neelsen staining technique.
Cryptosporidiosis were found at 119 herds. Kids between five and twenty-one days old are the most susceptible.
The morbidity varies from 75–100% and the mortality from 45-50%. Some animals do not develop into chronic
cases and become carriers. After infection, animals either resist the organism, develop a mild infection that is
self limiting, or soon sicken and die. Based on the performed research, we have established a significant role of
cryptosporidiosis in the development of neonatal enteropathies of kids.

dovesti do nastanka ulkusa.

AB - In intensive rearing conditions, dairy cows are exposed to many factors that can cause
health disorders and significant economic loses. Today, claw diseases are the main problem
in high-milk cow's herd, along with metabolic diseases, mastitis and reproduction disorders.
Claw diseases can have direct effects on reproductive parameters. The aim of our research
was to determine the frequency of certain diseases of the locomotor apparatus of dairy cows
on farms with tie stall system. In the period of two years, a total of 37,893 cows were
examined, wherein the following has been found: Laminitis in 34,217 cows (90.30%),
Dermatitis interdigitalis in 25,876 cows (68.29%), Dermatitis digitalis in 11,817 cows
(31.18%), Rusterholz ulcer in 8,272 cows (21.83%), Fibroma in 3063 cows (8.08%), and
Panaritium in 618 cows (1.63%). The results show that laminitis dominate in the herds.
Considering the etiology of diseases determined at the farms it is primarily to focus on
preventing the formation of metabolic disorders and adequate nutrition of the animals, and
then on the improvement of housing conditions and the regular implementation of measures
to prevent the spread of infectious claw diseases.
