AB  - Parvoviroza pasa je veoma zarazna bolest pasa čiji je uzro«nik pseći parvovirus
tip 2 (CPV-2). Kontaminacija objekata i njihovog okruženja je česta uprkos vakcinaciji pasa protiv parvovirusa. Poseban problem predstavlja otpornost virusa u
spoljašnjoj sredini tokom dužeg perioda sa mogućnošću prenošenja na prijemčivog domaćina, ali i njegova otpornost prema večini dezinfekcionih sredstava. Parvovirus pokazuje osetljivost prema halogenima, kao što je natrijum-hipohlorit koji
se sve češće koristi u procesima dezinfekcije u odgajiva«nicama širom sveta. Dobra
higijenska praksa i dezinfekcija u odgajivačnicama, ali i kontinuirana edukacija
vlasnika mogu smanjiti rizik od pojave oboljenja.

AB  - Пнеумоније у свињарској производњи представљају врло значајан здравствени
и економски проблем. Поред биолошких агенаса за појаву оболења
респираторног тракта, значајну улогу имају и неспецифични фактори, при
чему се пре свега мисли на квалитет ваздуха, присуство микроорганизама и
честица прашине у амбијенту у коме животиње бораве. Комплекс
респираторне болести свиња (PRDC) је заједнички термин за пнеумоније
свиња које имају мултифакторијалну етиологију, а не означава неки одрећени
облик пнеумоније, при чему преваленца изолованих патогена варира између
и унутар производних запата. Од прегледаних узорака плућа, најчешће
изоловане бактеријске врсте биле су Pasteurella multocida и Actinobacillus
pleuropenumoniae. Значај ових узрочника пнеумонија свиња је потврђен и
ранијих година.
AB  - Pneumonia in pig production represents a very significant health and economic
problem. In addition to biological agents for the occurrence of respiratory tract
diseases, non-specific factors also play a significant role, primarily referring to air
quality, the presence of microorganisms and dust particles in the environment
where animals live. Porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC) is a collective
term for swine pneumonias that have a multifactorial etiology, rather than a
specific form of pneumonia, with the prevalence of isolated pathogens varying
between and within production herds. Of the examined lung samples, the most
frequently isolated bacterial species were Pasteurella multocida and
Actinobacillus pleuropenumoniae. The importance of these causative agents of
swine pneumonia has been confirmed in previous years.

AB  - Susceptible categories of pigs for the occurrence of respiratory diseases are categories in postweaning and
fattening. The spectrum of clinical symptoms is very wide and includes not only respiratory symptoms, but
also many other symptoms that appear as a consequence of systemic disorders, depending on the type of
causative agent. Cough can be of different frequency, intensity and productivity, and difficulty breathing can
be of different degrees. Respiratory diseases may be accompanied by stunted growth, rough bristles,
anorexia, reduced daily gain and lethargy. Disseminated systemic disorders often include symptoms
suggestive of central nervous system disorders, swollen joints and lameness, followed by reproductive
disorders or sudden death. Pathomorphological changes are also of different character and severity. Nonspecific factors predispose to the occurrence of initial damage or contribute to the further spread of already
existing lesions. In this article, we wanted to give an overview of our research on respiratory diseases of viral
etiology in pigs from commercial farms.

Nalaz čira papaka na prednjim nogama kod krava u vezanom sistemu držanja

AB  - U vezanom sistemu držanja krava, bolest bele linije i čir papka se
izdvajaju kao vodeći zdravstveni problemi vezani za njihove ekstremitete. U većini slučajeva, čir papka se pojavljuje na zadnjim ekstremitetima, a retko na prednjim, Cilj ove
studije je bio da se analizira frekvenca pojave čira papka na prednjim ekstremitetima
kod krava simentaske rase. U našoj studiji je utvđeno da se čir papka na prednjm ekstremiretim pojavio kod 4 od 45 krava (8,9%). Ove lezije su zapažene i na zadnjim nogama
kod 8 od 45 krava (17,8%). Ukoliko su promene kod iste jedinke bile i na prednjim i na
zadnjim nogama, uglavnom su bile kontralateralne. Predisponirajući faktor za nastanak čira papka je bila vlažna prostrka od slame. Redovno i pravilno obrezivanje papaka, uz korekciju ambijentanih uslova su ključ za prevenciju pojave oboljenja papaka.
AB  - : In a tied holding systems, white line disease and sole ulcers stand out
as prominent health problems of the cows limbs. The most often sole ulcers occur on the
hind limbs, rarely on the fore limbs. The aim of this study was to provide information
on the frequency of sole ulcers on the fore limbs in Simmental cows. In our study, sole
ulcers were on the fore limbs found in 4/45 cows (8.9%). The lesions were also present
on the hind limbs 8/45 (17.8%) of examined cows. The distribution of sole ulcers on the
same animal were mostly contralateral. The presence of the humid straw bedding has
proven to be a predisposing factor for sole ulcers. Regular management of hoof trimmings, with improved ambient conditions, has key role in preventing occurrence of the
hoof disease.

AB  - Муфлон је једна од најцењенијих врста ловне дивљачи која је због растућег тренда
спортског лова увезена и насељена у Србији и према литературним подацима код
ове врсте јављају се исте бактеријске, вирусне и паразитске болести као и код оваца.
У овом раду је описан случај коинфекције Clostridium perfringens типом А,
Clostridium septicum и Clostridium sordelli код муфлона и урађена је компаративна
анализа патоморфолошких промена са другим врстама дивљих папкара.
Женка муфлона пореклом из ловишта са територије града Београда, тешка 40
килограма, у доброј кондицији, достављена је у дијагностичку лабораторију
Научног института за ветеринарство Србије ради утврђивања узрока угинућа.
Анамнестички подаци су указивали на изненадну смрт, а у скорије време такви
случајеви су се често дешавали.
Макроскопски су утврђена масивна крварења у поткожном, интермускуларном
ткиву и на папиларним мишићима срца. Петехије и екхимозе уочене су на
оментуму, мезентеријуму и масном ткиву срца, бубрега и косталној плеури.
Хеморагично-некротични дуодено-јејунитис карактерисао се присуством крвавог
садржаја. Након обдукције, узети су узорци различитих ткива и органа за
хистопатолошку, бактериолошку и молекуларну анализу (PCR). Хистопатолошким
прегледом потврђене су већ установљене макроскопске лезије, али је утврђена
верминозна пнеумонија, мултифокалне некрозе јетре, масивно крварење и
фоликуларна лимфоидна деплеција у слезини. Некротични ентеритис карактерисао
се десквамацијом и некрозом цревних ресица, као и присуством мехурића гаса у
субмукози.
Бактеријске културе из узоркованих ткива и органа идентификоване су применом
стандардних бактериолошких метода и PCR методе као Clostridium perfringens тип
А, Clostridium septicum и Clostridium sordelli.
На основу утврђених макроскопских и хистопатолошких промена и резултата
бактериолошког и молекуларног испитивања, стање септичног шока и токсемије са
дисеминованим масивним крварењем је непосредни узрок угинућа муфлона.
Септично стање је последица ентеротоксемије изазване инфекцијом трима врстама
клостридија, и то Clostridium perfringens тип А, Clostridium septicum и Clostridium
sordelli. На основу спроведене комапартивне анализе може се закључити да је
патолошки налаз врло сличан код различитих врста дивљих папкара.

inhabited a lot due to the growing trend of sport hunting and according to literatury
data this species is affected by the same bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases as sheep.
In this paper, the case of concurrent infection by Clostridium perfringens tip A,
Clostridium septicum, and Clostridium sordelli in necropsied mouflon is described. A
comparative analysis of pathomorphological lesions with other wild even-toed
ungulates species was performed.
Female mouflon, weighing 40 kilograms, in good physical condition, was submitted
to the diagnostic laboratory of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Serbia for
determining cause of death. The female mouflon was originated from the hunting area
of the city of Belgrade. Anamnestic data indicated sudden death, and recent more such
cases occurred frequently.
Macroscopically massive hemorrhages in subcutaneous, intermuscular tissue and on
papillary muscle were noted. Petechiae and ecchymoses were found on the omentum,
mesentery and adipose tissue of heart, kidney and costal pleura. Haemorrhagicnecrotic duodeno/jejunitis was characterized by hemorrhagic exudate. After necropsy,
samples for histopathological, bacteriological, and molecular examination (PCR)
were taken. Histopathological examination confirmed detected macroscopic lesions,
as well as verminous pneumonia, multifocal liver necroses, massive bleeding in the
spleen and follicular lymphoid depletion. Necrotic enteritis was characterised by
sloughing of intestinal villi as well as the presence of gas bubbles in the submucosa.
Bacterial cultures from sampled organs were identified as Clostridium perfringens
type A, Clostridium septicum, and Clostridium sordelli.
Based on the established macroscopical and histological changes and the results of
the bacteriological, biochemical, and molecular examination, the state of septic shock
and toxemia with disseminated massive bleeding is the immediate cause of mouflon
death. The septic condition is a consequence of enterotoxemia caused by Clostridium
perfringens type A, Clostridium septicum, and Clostridium sordelli infection. Based
on the conducted comparative analysis, it can be concluded that the
pathomorphological findings are very similar in different species of wild even-toed
ungulates.

AB  - Monieziais is a global parasite disease of ruminants. It is caused by Moniezia expans and Moniezia benedini. As all
tapeworms, Moniezia spp has an indirect life cycle with ruminants as final hosts, and oribatid mites (also called "moss
mites" and "beetle mites") as intermediate hosts. The oribatid mites ingest the eggs, which hatch in their gut and
develop to cysticercoids in the body cavity of the mites. They are infective for the final hosts. These thugs inhabit the
small intestine of the host and clinical presentation is most common in young animals. There are disorders of profuse
diarrhea, intestinal convulsions and obstruction, bloated abdomen, cachexia and death. Research on the prevalence of
monieziais in ruminants has not been done in Serbia for more than fifty years. In our work, we presented the results of a
preliminary examination of the prevalence of monieziais in certain regions of Serbia in large and small ruminants in the
last ten years. Moniezia benedeni is a common tapeworm of cattle in Serbia and depending on the region, the prevalence
is 3 to 5%. Moniezia expansa is more frequent in sheep and goats and occured in 11 to 23% of examined animals.
Diagnosis is based on fecal examination for the presence of gravid segments (proglottids) or of eggs with a
characteristic morphology. In the treatment of the disease, the most commonly used preparations are bezamidazole,
niclosamide, and combination of praziquantel and levamisole.

AB  - Parazitske infekcije predstavljaju stalne pratioce svinjarske proizvodnje, nezavisno od
načina držanja. Pri tome je prisustvo protozoalnih infekcija zabeleženo u svim starostnim
kategorijama s tim da je najveća prevalenca i morbiditet zabeležen u mlađim kategorijama
prasadi. Sa stanovišta svinjarske proizvodnje, najvećeg značaja imaju kokcidije iz rodova
Isospora, Eimeria i Cryptosporidium. Zavisno od starosti prasadi ove infekcije se kaskadno
nastavljaju jedna na drugu a kao glavni izvor infekcije su apostrofirane krmače. Infekcija prasadi
nastaje peroralno ingestijom oocisti koje se nalaze u izmetu svinja. U ovoj kategoriji životinja
mesta infekcije su zaprljani mamarni kompleks krmača, izmet u boksevima koje prasad čeprka i
konzumira (koprofagija je normalna pojava kod svinja), zaprljane šipke bokseva i sl. Pod
klasičnom kokcidiozom svinja se podrazumava infekcija sa protozoama iz roda Eimeria spp. U
Srbiji su zabeležene infekcije sa E. perminuta, E.debliecki i E. polita. U mlađim kategorijama
prasadi procenat inficiranih jedinki je iznosio: Eimeria polita 4-9%, Eimeria perminuta 27-31%
i Eimeria debliecki 3-24%. Kod tovljenika je procenat infekcija iznosio: Eimeria perminuta 27-
31%, E.polita 4-9%, E.debliecki 3-24% a kod priplodnih životinja E.perminuta 17-21%,
Eimeria debliecki (12-23%) i E.polita 14-19%.
Infekcije mogu nastati odmah po prašenju a obolenje se manifestuje između 7-11 dana
života. Javlja se proliv (retko sa primesama krvi) i gubitak apetita, životinje gube u težini, imaju
slabiji prirast a moguća su i uginuća. Patološke promene su prisutne u tankom i debelom crevu
ali su najmarkantnije u jejunumu. Zapaža se kataralno zapaljenje, sluzokoža je zadebljala sa
ređim tačkastim krvarenjima i deskvamacijom epitela. Zid creva je obložen mukofibrinoznim
eksudatom koji ponekad pokriva nekrotična polja. Starije svinje stiču imunitet i predstavljaju
glavne prenosioce parazita. Dijagnoza se postavlja koprološkim pregledom i uzimanjem briseva
mukoze creva (na sekciji). Terapija svinja se vrši primenom kokcidiostatika od kojih su se
najbolje pokazali toltrazuril, amprolijum i monensis i preparati na bazi sulfa jedinjenja.

slabiji prirast a moguća su i uginuća. Patološke promene su prisutne u tankom i debelom crevu
ali su najmarkantnije u jejunumu. Zapaža se kataralno zapaljenje, sluzokoža je zadebljala sa
ređim tačkastim krvarenjima i deskvamacijom epitela. Zid creva je obložen mukofibrinoznim
eksudatom koji ponekad pokriva nekrotična polja. Starije svinje stiču imunitet i predstavljaju
glavne prenosioce parazita. Dijagnoza se postavlja koprološkim pregledom i uzimanjem briseva
mukoze creva (na sekciji). Terapija svinja se vrši primenom kokcidiostatika od kojih su se
najbolje pokazali toltrazuril, amprolijum i monensis i preparati na bazi sulfa jedinjenja.",

AB  - The paper examines the results of the research on the
coccidiosis in lambs in Vojvodiina. The present study was conducted in 90
sheep flocks from the all territory of Vojvodina in the period from March 2014
to January 2015. Sheep of both sexes (320 males and 580 females, for a total
of 900) were randomly chosen. There were 610 adults (one-year-old and
above) and 290 lambs. Colected faeces samples were examined using routine
coprological methods. During our examination coccidiosis were found at
32.22% (29/90) flocks. We usally occured mixed infection with 2-3 coccidia
species. At sheep most abundant species were E.ovinoidalis found at 87.1%,
followed by E faurei (42%), Eimeria ahsata (37%), E. granulosa (31%), E.
intricata (19%), and E. pallida (8%). Oocyst were found at adult ant young
animals, but clinical sign of disease were present only at young animals. The
number of excreted oocysts was higher in lambs than in adult sheep.

AB  - Cryptosporidiosis is an anthropozoonosis caused by coccidia of the family Cryptoporididae, whish may cause
a serious health problem for kids in the first weeks of life. In our paper we presented results of examination
of goat cryptosporidiosis in Serbia. In period 2016-2019 we examined 197 goat herds. Total of 1576 faecal
smears were examined by Sheather’s sugar floatation technique and modified Ziehl–Neelsen staining technique.
Cryptosporidiosis were found at 119 herds. Kids between five and twenty-one days old are the most susceptible.
The morbidity varies from 75–100% and the mortality from 45-50%. Some animals do not develop into chronic
cases and become carriers. After infection, animals either resist the organism, develop a mild infection that is
self limiting, or soon sicken and die. Based on the performed research, we have established a significant role of
cryptosporidiosis in the development of neonatal enteropathies of kids.

AB  - Modern antiparasitic pharmacotherapy faces several important challenges. An
increasing number of reports refer to the resistance of parasitic nematodes to conventional
antiparasitic drugs, while dose increasing manifests their toxicity. Particularly important for
veterinary medicine is the fact that most antiparasitic drugs require a long withdrawal period
after application in animals whose tissues are intended for human consumption.

AB  - West Nile virus (WNV) is a zoonotic flavivirus whose transmission cycle in nature includes wild birds as amplifying hosts and ornithophilic mosquito vectors. Bridge vectors can transmit WNV to mammal species potentially causing West Nile Fever. Wild bird migration is a mode of WNV introduction into new areas. The Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve (DDBR) is a major stopover of wild birds migrating between Europe and Africa. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of WNV in the DDBR during the 2016 transmission season in wild birds and mosquitoes. Blood from 68 wild birds (nine different species) trapped at four different locations was analyzed by competitive ELISA and Virus Neutralization Test (VNT), revealing positive results in 8/68 (11.8%) of the wild birds by ELISA of which six samples (three from juvenile birds) were confirmed seropositive by VNT. Mosquitoes (n = 6523, 5 genera) were trapped with CDC Mini Light traps at two locations and in one location resting mosquitoes were caught. The presence of WNV RNA was tested in 134 pools by reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). None of the pools was positive for WNV-specific RNA. Based on the obtained results, WNV was circulating in the DDBR during 2016.
