AB  - U intezivnom sistemu proizvodnje brojlera, tovni pilići se uzgajaju u podnom sistemu
na dubokoj prostirci koja ima veliki apsorpcioni potencijal. Živinarska proizvodnja
se poslednjih godina rapidno razvija, a sa njom i sve veća zabrinutost za odlaganje i
iskorišćavanje animalnog otpada i pojavu štetnih gasova. U pomenutom sistemu, prostirka
ima veoma važnu ulogu. Emisija štetnih gasova predstavlja problem sa aspekta
zdravstvenog stanja brojlera u tovu i zaposlenih. Cilj ovog istraživanja je procena nivoa
emisije štetnih gasova, kao što su amonijak (NH3), ugljen-dioksid (CO2) i vodonik-sulfid
(H2S), koristeći šest različitih vrsta prostirki. Merenje koncentracije štetnih gasova
je vršeno na nedeljnom nivou u svakom tretmanu. Koncentracija amonijaka je prvi put
zabeležena iznad dozvoljene vrednosti od 20 ppm 28. dana tova. Tokom perioda tova,
koncentracije izmerenog ugljen-dioksida nisu prelazile dozvoljeni prag od 3 000 ppm,
dok vodonik-sulfid nije detektovan. Pomenuto istraživanje ukazuje na uticaj različitih
materijala i formulacija prostirke koji se koriste u brojlerskoj proizvodnji. Zbog činjenice
da su brojleri u konstantnom kontaktu sa prostirkom, pažljiv odabir, adekvatan menadžment,
odgovarajuće skladištenje i pravilno korišćenje doprinose boljem i kvalitetnijem
vazduhu unutar objekta što posledično dovodi do manje emisije štetnih gasova.

AB  - Reduced fertilization capacity of overdiluted insemination doses was frequently
demonstrated as a factor of lower fertility in artificial (AI), compared with natural inseminated
sows. The aim of the present study was to investigate the distribution of boars, used for AI on
intensive pig farm in AP Vojvodina, according to protein content in seminal plasma. Total of
75 ejaculates, from the 64 boars was investigated. Average protein content in seminal plasma,
for all boars, were 2.9% (1.2% to 6.5%). Only 31% of the 64 investigated boars has a high (≥
3.6%, average 4.1%) proteine content in seminal plasma. Other boars has low protein content
(≤ 3.5%, average 2.3%) in seminal plasma. According to the results obtained in the present
study, and the results of other authors, it can be concluded that evaluation of protein content in
seminal plasma maybe a useful tool for the determination of ejaculate quality and to selection
the higher fertile boars prior to using for artificial insemination.

Effect of season on boast semen quality

AB  - It was demonstrated that boar sperm production and characteristics significantly decrease in the wormer period of the year. As a result, the boars reproductive exploitation efficiency decrease in the wormer season. Therefore, the aim of the present paper was to investigate the influence of cold and warm season on the boars semen quality, in the our intensive pig production conditions. The obtained results clearly show that the main semen quality parameters were significantly (p lt 0.05 or p lt 0.01) higher in the cold, compared with the warm season (ejaculate volume=274ml, sperm concentration=229'106/ml, total sperm number=60'109, progressive motility=79%, and good ejaculates=96%, vs. 218ml, 208'106/ml, 45'109, 69% and 78%, resp.). In conclusion, keeping boars cool during summer and frequent observation of boars to determine if they are being heat- stressed, can significant reduce the negative influence of elevated ambient temperature on sperm production and, consequently, improve boars reproductive exploitation efficiency.
AB  - Ustanovljeno je da su produkcija i osobine sperme nerasta značajno niže tokom toplijeg perioda godine. Posledično, u ovom periodu godine značajno se smanjuje efikasnost reproduktivnog iskorištavanja nerastova. Zbog toga je cilj ovog rada bio da se ustanovi uticaj hladne i tople godišnje sezone na parametre kvaliteta sperme u našim uslovima intenzivne proizvodnje svinja. Dobijeni rezultati jasno pokazuju da su osnovni parametri kvaliteta ejakulata značajno veći (p lt 0.05 or p lt 0.01) u hladnoj, nego u toploj godišnjoj sezoni (volumen ejakulata=274ml, koncentracija spermatozoida=229'106/ml, ukupan broj spermatozoida=60'109, progresivna pokretljivost=79% i dobrih ejakulata=96%, prema 218ml, 208'106/ml, 45'109, 69% i 78%). Zaključak je da rashlađivanje nerastova tokom leta i češća observacija prisustva toplotnog stresa, može značajno smanjiti negativan uticaj povišene ambijentalne temperature na produkciju sperme i, posledično, povećati efikasnost reproduktivnog iskorištavanja nerastova.
